NuRAN Wireless was selected in November 2016 as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and distributor of Open Cellular, a disruptive open-source and cost effective software-defined wireless access platform specifically designed to improve Internet and mobile connectivity in rural and remote areas.  During the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) session hosted by Facebook at Mobile World Congress 2017, Facebook also announced that NuRAN had been additionally retained for the front-end development of the LTE OpenCellular platform.

(“NuRAN Wireless” or the “Company”) (CSE: NUR) (OTC:NRRWF), a leading supplier of mobile and broadband wireless solutions to connect the next billion and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and distributor of the OpenCellular platform, will be a presenter and share its expertise in wireless and rural connectivity as well as act as a moderator at the upcoming 2nd OpenCellular Workshop, the first to be presented in Africa.

 

The first Telecom Infra Project (TIP) OpenCellular Workshop in Africa will be presented in Nairobi, Kenya on June 19th and 20th 2017.  The objective of this workshop is to bring together all the participants to the OpenCellular project, a group that aims to democratize the access to mobile connectivity in remote areas through the development of open source and low-cost wireless access platforms. Regulators, mobile network operators and OEMs will have an opportunity to participate to hands-on demos of the latest hardware, keynotes, panel sessions and discussions on the most recent developments in the OpenCellular initiative.

 

NuRAN Wireless Director of Research & Development, and also Co-Lead of the Radio Access working group of Open Cellular, Mr David Bourget and Maxime Dumas, Head of Strategy & Business Development, will participate and moderate several discussions at the workshop:
